Texas Border Business is examining nine automotive retail predictions made by Car Dealership Guy founder and CEO Yossi J. Levi. Each article looks independently at one prediction, the changes behind it and what would have to occur for the forecast to become reality by 2029. The predictions are Levi’s and are presented as forecasts, not established outcomes. Texas Border Business will publish the nine-part series one article at a time, beginning September 30, 2026, with a new article released each day.

An automotive technology company with only 10 employees could reach a $1 billion valuation by 2029, according to one of nine predictions from Car Dealership Guy founder and CEO Yossi J. Levi.
The forecast reflects Levi’s expectation that artificial intelligence will change the relationship between a company’s number of employees and the amount of business it can build and support.
Levi published the prediction Sept. 29 as part of his assessment of where automotive retail could be headed during the next 24 months.
A company valued at $1 billion is commonly described in the technology and investment industries as a unicorn when it remains privately held.
Levi’s prediction is notable because of the proposed workforce: only 10 employees.
According to the Car Dealership Guy analysis, AI could allow a small team to build, sell, support, and expand software operations that historically would have required substantially larger staffs.
The prediction does not identify a particular startup that will reach the $1 billion level, nor does it say such a company has already achieved the combination of valuation and staffing Levi describes.
Instead, it sets a benchmark for what Levi expects AI-enabled businesses serving the automotive industry could accomplish by 2029.
Levi is himself involved in automotive entrepreneurship and investment in addition to operating Car Dealership Guy.
In June, he announced CDG Ventures, an investment platform providing accredited investors access to private investment opportunities from his network in automotive, technology and commerce. Car Dealership Guy said Levi has identified and invested in companies operating in automotive, software, artificial intelligence, financial technology, marketplaces and commerce infrastructure.
His earlier automotive venture also provides context for the scale involved. Levi founded online automotive retailer Gettacar in 2018. Car Dealership Guy says the business raised more than $50 million and reached approximately $80 million in annual sales.
The new prediction goes beyond building a digital automotive company. It suggests AI could let the next generation of startups reach substantial valuations without building the workforces traditionally associated with companies of that size.
Valuation, however, is not the same as revenue or profit. Levi’s prediction specifically concerns the value assigned to such a company.
By 2029, the automotive technology market will show whether a 10-person operation can reach the $1 billion threshold Levi has predicted.
