BROWNSVILLE, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a drug smuggling mother on Friday morning.

Brownsville agents responded to a report of a Ford Escape loaded with marijuana bundles near the Rio Grande. Upon arrival, agents encountered the vehicle traveling away from the reported area. As a mobile unit began to follow the suspected load vehicle, the driver of the Ford Escape voluntarily stopped. Agents approached the vehicle and observed several bundles inside the vehicle, as well as an infant in a car-seat. Agents arrested the driver and front passenger.  This case has been referred for criminal prosecution and remains under investigation.
