Congratulations to McAllen High School Mariachi Oro member, Ashley Treviño, who was crowned the “2019 Mariachi Nationals Vocal Champion” out in California on August 4, 2019. As a result of her victory, she performed at the Pacific Amphitheater at the Orange County Fair in front of more than 5,000 people.
She opened up for Mariachi Sol de México and other big names in the music industry such as Ana Barbara and Mariachi Reyna de Los Ángeles! We are extremely proud of her for this huge accomplishment and for representing McAllen High and McAllen ISD at the National Level! She is one more reason why McAllen ISD has been named a national Best Community for Music Education for seven straight years.
