SARITA, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents disrupted two separate smuggling attempt resulting in the apprehension of 40 illegal aliens.

Late Sunday night, Kingsville agents working at the Javier Vega Jr. Checkpoint referred a Winnebago RV to the secondary inspection after a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to the vehicle. During the investigation, agents discovered 13 illegal aliens hidden inside the RV. Agents arrested the driver and passenger.

Similarly early Monday morning, agents referred a tractor trailer to the secondary inspection area after a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to the cargo. During the inspection, agents discovered 27 illegal aliens concealed within the trailer. Agents arrested the driver.

The Border Patrol referred both cases for prosecution and is processing all subjects accordingly.
