EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member, and a migrant previously convicted of a sexual crime against a child.

On Sunday morning, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents working near Hidalgo, Texas, arrested several subjects, to include a Honduran adult male, shortly after illegally entering the United States. During processing, record checks revealed the Honduran national is a MS-13 gang member.

Yesterday afternoon, Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station (RGC) agents performed an immigration inspection on five individuals detained during a Texas Department of Public Safety vehicle stop in Roma, Texas. Agents determined all five subjects were in the country illegally. The migrants were taken into Border Patrol custody and transported for processing.  At the station, agents discovered one of the subjects, a Guatemalan national, had been previously arrested by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office in eastern Kansas. The 2016 arrest was for unlawful voluntary sexual relations – intercourse with a child.  The Guatemalan national was convicted and sentenced to eight months incarceration.
