Mission, Texas – Mission Consolidated Independent School District superintendent, Dr. Carol G. Perez, was honored at the 7th Annual Women of Distinction Awards Dinner at the Mission Event Center on June 9th. The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Cynthia M. Sakulenzki presented the award to Dr. Perez at the event.  She was among nine other women recognized for not only being trailblazers in their fields but for also making long- lasting contributions in their communities.

“It was a complete surprise to have been nominated and selected for this distinguished award presented by the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,” states Dr. Carol G. Perez, superintendent. “I am truly humbled to be among these remarkable women that have made so many meaningful contributions in their fields. This award would not have been possible without the hard work of all our students, parents, board of trustees, staff, and administration.  I will continue to advocate for education as well as for our students and staff not for recognition but because it is my lifelong calling and passion.”
