City of McAllen Offers Two Self-Serve Sand Bag Distribution Sites

The City of McAllen is offering self-serve sand bag distribution today, Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the McAllen Public Works Recycling Center, located at 4101 N. Bentsen Rd., starting at 1:00 p.m. 

A second self-serve sand bag distribution will also be happening today, starting at 3:00 p.m. at the South Texas College Campus Jaguar Express Park & Ride Parking Lot on 4015 Pecan Blvd., located at the intersection of S. Ware Rd. and Bentsen Rd. 

Proof of residency, such as a utility bill must be provided.

Residents are limited to six each and businesses are limited to 12 bags each. There are limited shovels available, so residents are encouraged to be patient or bring their own. 

All must wear a mask and practice social distancing. 

Sand bags will be distributed at the McAllen Public Works Recycling Center for elderly and persons with disabilities ONLY.  Proof of residency required.  Sand bags will be loaded into the vehicles.
