Vipers and Gloria Jeans Coffee Host Blocks For Books With The South Texas Literacy Coalition

EDINBURG, Texas – The Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today their partnership with Gloria Jeans Coffee Shop and The South Texas Literacy Coalition to host a two-day Blocks for Books book drive-thru on Tuesday, March 30th and Wednesday, March 31st. 

The two-day book drive-thru will be hosted at Gloria Jeans Coffee Shop (500 N. Jackson Rd., Pharr, Texas) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Blocks for Books is designed to increase literacy across the Rio Grande Valley. For every in-game block made during the Vipers 2020-21 season, 10 books will be donated to children in need. The South Texas Literacy Coalition has agreed to match the number of books donated to bring the grand total to 2,000 books. Each day during the book drive-thru, 1,000 books will be given out on each day. Books available to kids ages 4-17 years of age.
