The Pharr Community Theater, Co. (PCT) will present Toro Sentado/Sitting Bull in Spanish and in English, written by Mercedes Varela Garcia and directed by Pedro Garcia.

Antonio Castillo, from McAllen, performs as Sitting Bull in English on the Pharr Community Theater’s FB page, premiering April 7, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. through April 21, 2021. Free admission.
Sitting Bull was a Hunkpapa Lakota leader who led his people during years of resistance against United States government policies. Born in 1831 in South Dakota, he died on December 15, 1890 at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, that lies across the border between North and South Dakota.

The 14-minute monologue will star Genaro Escobedo, from Donna, in Spanish & Antonio Castillo, from McAllen, in English.

The full-dress costume was designed by Victoria Magallanes, from Dallas and the set was designed by Jennifer P. Garcia from Edinburg.

Christopher Cabello was the video producer. The poignant, poetic story plays homage to the great Lakota Sioux, Medicine Man & Chief.

Both versions will run back-to-back premiering April 7, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. and anytime afterwards through April 21, 2021, on the PCT FB page.

Free Admission. The production rating is equivalent to a PG.
