The Dr. Seuss classic book, The Lorax, is whimsically displayed at Quinta Mazatlán for a quarter mile Walk & Read in the Woods.  School groups are invited for a morning outdoor educational field trip with outdoor park lunch areas provided with reservations.  The Lorax Trail is presented by H-E-B to encourage kids to speak for themselves and the environment, with a little help from the Lorax!

Colleen Hook, Manager of Quinta Mazatlán shares, “The fun and learning experience in the woods empowers children to make a difference today and provides opportunities for conversations with older generations”.  The outdoor interpretive experience is marketed to 4 to 9 year olds, but can engage children up to 14.

Nearly 50 years ago, Theodor Geisel (aka Dr. Suess) wrote “The Lorax”.  The book’s environmental story is even more important today as we continue to lose millions of trees a year.  Trees play an important role in keeping our air clean, provide relief from the sun and serve as habitat for our wildlife.  The story tells the tale of a businessman named the Once-ler, who cut down Truffula trees to make a product called a Thneed, which nobody really needs.  The Lorax implores the Once-ler on behalf of the trees and wildlife to stop his damaging ways.  Sadly, the Once-ler continues with mass production until nothing is left of the beautiful landscape, except one seed!

The book remains to this day as an environmental classic and a must read for young children.  Call Victor DeLeon at Quinta Mazatlán today, 956-681-3370, for a group reservation which includes space for up to 100 for lunch outdoors.  Youth are also provided an educational booklet to take home.  Families of all ages are welcome to the Lorax Trail as well, Tuesday to Saturday 8 to 5 and Thursday evenings.

Bring your school group to Quinta Mazatlán for the educational and fun Lorax Trail through the woods presented by H-E-B.  School packages include outdoor lunch areas and an educational booklet per child.  Children will leave remembering the word of the Lorax, “UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
