EDINBURG, Texas – Border Patrol agents rescue an individual who sustained a head injury while attempting to evade apprehension.

Yesterday morning, agents and a K-9 assigned to the McAllen Border Patrol station were tracking a group of subjects near Havana, Texas. When agents located the group, they attempted to flee in the nearby brush. While agents were pursuing the group through the brush, one of the subjects struck a tree and sustained an injury to his forehead.  A Border Patrol (EMT) responded to the scene, evaluated the injury and administered first aid.

Due to the nature of the injury, the EMT requested advanced medical evaluation and treatment.  The subject was alert and conscious while carried out on a stretcher. After an assessment by EMS, he was transported to a local medical center for further treatment.
