McALLEN, Texas â€“ Rio Grande Valley Sector agents conducting processing duties identify four gang members in a single day.

On Dec. 21, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents working near Mission, arrested a Salvadoran national illegally present in the United States. Record checks revealed he is a Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member.

Earlier that morning, MCS processing agents encountered a Mexican national whose record checks revealed he is a Paisa gang member with extensive criminal history in the Rio Grande Valley. His criminal convictions range from driving while intoxicated (DWI) in 2007 in Alamo, evading arrest with a vehicle in 2011, and assault in 2015. He was sentenced to two years confinement for his most recent arrest in 2017 for harassment of a public servant, resisting arrest, and assault of a public servant. He was subsequently removed from the U.S. in 2019.

Around the same time, record checks on a third Salvadoran national revealed he is an MS-13. He was charged in Monroe, Washington, with hit and run from a vehicle accident and driving without a license. He has also been removed numerous times from the U.S.

All subjects were processed accordingly.
