PHARR, TX – The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley is proud to announce Knapp Community Care Foundation (KCCF) as its April ‘Donor of the Month.’

Since 2018, KCCF has collaborated with the Food Bank RGV consistently to fight hunger and improve the health of the Mid- Valley Community. With support received from KCCF, the food bank has provided more than 22,000 Mid-Valley residents, with over 323,000 pounds of nutritious food, the equivalent of 270,000 meals. The Knapp Community Care Foundation has recently provided an additional grant to support the Food Bank RGV’s emergency food response for Mid-Valley residents.

“The Food Bank RGV is eternally grateful for the stalwart support of the Knapp Community Care Foundation (KCCF), especially now when our Mid-Valley neighbors are in need of more help than ever, as a result of the incessant impact of Covid-19. Thank you KCCF for your partnership in our mission to enrich, nourish, and strengthen our most vulnerable throughout the RGV”-Stuart Haniff, MHA-CEO, Food Bank of the RGV.

The Food Bank RGV proudly recognizes the Knapp Community Care Foundation Board of Directors,

Yvonne “Bonnie” Gonzalez, CEO, and her team for their support and guidance through the pandemic and during natural disasters. The Food Bank RGV has experienced a 233% spike in the number of clients served, since the beginning of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic. Donations and support received have sustained efforts to continue reinforcing partner agencies across the Rio Grande Valley with vital supplies for clients. The Food bank RGV continues to provide additional aid to the community, through their “pop up” mobile produce distributions, throughout the various regions served and their own on-site drive-thru emergency pantry distribution. Every dollar donated provides up to five complete and healthy meals for RGV families, which matters now more than ever.
