Edinburg, Texas— On Friday, May 14th, 2021 the City of Edinburg, Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, and Vanguard Academy Charter School leaders celebrated a ground breaking ceremony on the city’s first all-inclusive park. The new community park aptly named Beethoven Park, located at 2225 S. Veterans Boulevard, is expected to be completed by Fall 2021.

The musically-themed park, which is approximately 20,000 sq. feet, will feature the first ‘We-Go-Swing’ in Texas! The ‘We-Go-Swing’ is a patent-pending no-transfer swing that allows for children of all ages and abilities to engage in play activity. The inclusive design of the new Vanguard Academy Beethoven City Park playscapes not only encourages interactive play for all young children, but also focuses on safety with cool-to-the-touch surfaces, safety fall zones, ramps, and adaptive seating areas.

Friday’s Groundbreaking Ceremony included a Presentation of Colors by the Edinburg Fire and Police Department Honor Guard, a pledge and prayer by Vanguard Academy Beethoven students, a performance by the Beethoven Orchestra, and Capable Kids’ Spark Cheerleaders.
