In the first of two U.S. House Appropriations Committee markups, or reviews of federal spending bills, Tuesday morning, Congressman Cuellar spoke about the language he included in the Fiscal Year 2017 U.S. House Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill to address rail congestion through Laredo, reduce veteran homelessness, better deal with the transportation of hazardous materials, and give local communities a greater say in border transportation priorities.

In Tuesday’s second Appropriations Committee markup, Congressman Cuellar reviews amendments to the Fiscal Year 2017 U.S. House Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Appropriations bill and discusses his language to secure 25 new immigration judges, additional immigration court space, a new immigration court electronic filing system and performance measures to ensure the funds are well used.
