MCALLEN, TX (October 31, 2016) – In anticipation with the upcoming holiday season, South Texas College Continuing, Professional and Workforce Education (CPWE), in partnership with the City of McAllen and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce will hold its next seminar targeting the retail industry in the Rio Grande Valley.
The training will take place on Tuesday Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at STC’s Cooper Center located at 3201 Pecan Blvd in McAllen. STC will be providing four hours of training, and will be conducted by Dr. Barbara Baggerly-Hinojosa, CEO of Leadership Empowerment Group, who will be speaking on leadership skills in the retail industry.
“This is a seminar that we have been hosting with the Chamber and the City of McAllen, this is the fourth one we are about to do,” said Olivia De La Rosa, Program Developer and Manager. “It’s a Customer Service Training basically, and in this case we are targeting the retail industry here in McAllen.”
Dr. Hinojosa will be discussing customer service skills for local retailers, and how they can hone their leadership skills for better business.
“The retail industry is big here in McAllen, it generates a lot of money so we want to give the people in retail the skills they need to be able to provide even better service to their customers,” De La Rosa said. “This is a program that Dr. Hinojosa developed to help the person realize that it’s not just about providing the customer service, but using their leadership skills to provide better customer service.”
