The Pharr San Juan Alamo area should be proud to have a professional like Dr. Jorge L. Arredondo as the superintendent. He hasn’t been here not even two years as such, however he has been on the battleground with a team of professionals and associates fervently fighting on all fronts every day.

His abilities as a leader were put to a test during the pandemic caused by COVID-19. Luckily for everyone here, this was not the first time he’s been tested. His prior responsibilities before coming to PSJA were always challenging.

It is known that for a real leader, before adopting new ideas and unfolding and executing new plans, it is important to hear from others. In his case, during his first 100-days as PSJA ISD’s Superintendent of Schools, he embarked on a tour of the district to visit, while listening and building relationships with students, parents, and staff. What a great idea. The idea behind all this effort is to update the PSJA Mission and Vision as the step to reach the next level.

Learn more about him and how his first State of the District address was dedicated to a team of brave people, that fought together with him during very trying times.

SPORTS News: A new ground-breaking association was recently created in McAllen, the RGV Area Soccer Association, also known as RASA.  The new association has partnered with the City of McAllen allowing local high school students (both boys and girls) to continue playing at a high school level of play off-season.

RASA president, Esequiel “Zeke” Morales told Texas Border Business, “This is the first outdoors soccer association established in McAllen in more than 30 years.  It’s a great opportunity for our local high school (boys and girls) soccer players to continue and maintain their level of play year-round so they may be more competitive once their high school season starts in December.”
