SAN JUAN, Texas – PSJA Early College High School (PSJA ECHS) senior Madeline Wollny officially signed her letter of commitment to the University of the Incarnate Word to continue her academic and athletic journey on a swimming scholarship during a special signing ceremony on April 21, 2026, surrounded by family, teammates, and coaches.

Wollny left behind a remarkable career at PSJA ECHS, establishing herself as one of the most accomplished swimmers in district and regional history. Throughout her high school career, she earned multiple honors, including six-time district individual champion, six-time district relay champion, and three-time district female swimmer of the year.
At the regional level, Wollny continued to dominate as a six-time Region VIII-6A individual champion, three-time relay champion, and three-time Region VIII-6A Female Swimmer of the Year, consistently ranking among top competitors in Texas.

Her success extended to the state level, where she qualified for the UIL State Meet three consecutive years and made history as a UIL State Bronze Medalist in the 6A division, placing third in the 50-yard freestyle. With this achievement, Wollny became the first female swimmer in Rio Grande Valley history to reach the podium at the UIL State 6A Meet, marking a historic milestone for the region.
As she takes the next steps in her journey, Wollny will compete at the collegiate level while pursuing her academic goals at the University of the Incarnate Word, carrying with her the foundation built through the years of hard work and commitment at PSJA ISD.
