Laredo College collaborates with the City of Laredo to stop COVID-19 spread

In an effort to continue the fight against COVID-19, Laredo College collaborated with the City of Laredo by providing 30 laptops that will be used to process vaccination services all over the community. 

“We will continue to support our community in any way possible to stay safe and healthy,” LC President Ricardo J. Solis said. “It is imperative that we collaborate with our local entities to stop the spread of the virus and continue saving lives.”

Laredo College executives were present to deliver the devices to representatives from the City of Laredo, including those from the Information Services and Telecommunications Department. These devices, provided on loan for pandemic response, have the capacity to process data rapidly and are equipped with LTE capabilities that allow for mobile internet connectivity.

The institution has also collaborated with local vaccination efforts by housing medical volunteers who have travelled to Laredo to assist in vaccination drives throughout this week and providing medical volunteers whom are students and faculty from LC health sciences programs. The college will continue assisting the city and other organizations however possible to support efforts to combat the COVID pandemic.
