Women’s Golf Finishes 14th

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women’s golf team finished in 14^th place at the 44^th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational on Monday at Lakewood Ranch Golf Club.

The Vaqueros turned in a final round 321 to finish with a three-round score of 922 as they finished just five shots back of Georgia State for 13^th.

Sophomore Samantha Garza posted the team’s best finish coming in tied for 46^th. Garza carded a final round 81 to finish with a three-round total of 230.

Sophomore Sophia Tejeda and junior Brownsville Veterans alum Julie Lucio both tied for 53^rd with three-round totals of 232. Both Tejeda and Lucio recorded final rounds of 81.

Freshman Maria Jose Ramirez finished tied for 67^th with a three-round total of 236 after posting a final round 83. Sophomore Mercedes Vega posted the team’s best round of the day after improving by seven strokes from her second round with a final round 78. Vega finished tied for 72^nd with a three-round score of 238.

Boston College made the jump to take the team title after a final round 296 as they finished with a three-round score of 867. Florida Gulf Coast’s Haley Yerxa won the individual title with a final round 73 finishing with a three-round total of 212.
