The McAllen Chamber of Commerce continues to look for innovative ways for their members to accelerate connections and to make money. Sometimes making money is as easy as just showing up for an event. Rick Guerra, a long-time chamber member, has been our master of ceremonies along with John Kreidler for the McAllen Chamber’s “Good Day Luncheon” since the event’s inception. On Thursday, September 20, John drew Rick’s name from the membership box in front of 250 business members, making Rick the jackpot winner of $1,100 cash prize.
“It was hard for me to let go of the money,” said Steve Ahlenius, President and CEO of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce. “Rick has been our emcee for over 30 year, that’s a long time! This is the first time, he’s ever won. Our core value at the McAllen Chamber is to help businesses make money and to add value to their membership. Rick is just another example of the “making money” value the chamber brings to the table.”
The “Good Day Luncheon” is hosted quarterly by the McAllen Chamber, which showcases new members and allows the sponsoring business to tell their story to over 250 local business people.
