With an initial investment of $1,336,380 approved by the McAllen City Commission, the McAllen Fire Department acquired a brand-new Metro Fire Apparatus-Fire Aerial Ladder Truck equipped with a 105′ Rear Mount Telescoping Ladder, a 450 gallon on-board water tank and various equipment for firefighting and rescue operations.   The truck is also equipped with a 2,000 gallons per minute water pump, and specialized vehicle rescue equipment.

This new fire truck will be housed at Fire Station #6 on the City’s South Side at 23rd and Sarah.
