Spring is in the air and the “Los Compadres Ambassadors” of the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will be knocking on doors to recruit new members.  The RGV Hispanic Chamber will be hosting their annual Spring Membership Drive on April 23-24th.  They concentrate on small business, health issues, immigration, international affairs, etc.  But its’ main focus is Small Business.  The RGVHCC is staffed by solely 3 people, so they have partnered up with SBA, UTRGV Small Business Development Center, LiftFund, People Fund and Score to be able to deliver many services through out the valley.  They have provided workshops in both English and  Spanish in order to educate the non-English speaking business owners.

The RGVHCC offers several networking events throughout the year for its’ members, giving them an opportunity to meet other business owners.  In addition, they also encourage business owners to become a member of the Compadre Ambassadors, another networking opportunity as Compadres get to attend ribbon cuttings, grand openings, events, etc., where they get to represent their company and meet other business owners.  In addition the Compadres have a monthly fun lunch meeting where they also receive recognition and prizes.

The RGVHCC was chartered in November 1997 and have since been recognized as the Top Chamber for the United States and Texas several times for their accomplishments and Program of Work.  They are well recognized by elected officials in Austin and Washington, DC. and have communicated the concerns of Valley business owners year after year.  “We urge anyone to become a member of the RGVHCC and take advantage of the benefits that the chamber provides”. stated Cynthia M. Sakulenzki, RGVHCC President/CEO.  “We have a great Board of Directors who have come up with an aggressive program of work that creates more benefits for its’ members.  “The new website will allow all chamber members to post their own company’s information like sales, job openings, promotions, etc.” stated Nilda Paxman, Vice Chair of Membership.  “We are really trying to create more benefits for our members” Paxman added.
