Texas Border Business

Starr County is the new diamond in the rough in the Rio Grande Valley.  Businesses are popping up by the dozens and local businesses are taking advantage of the financial resources that the local, state and federal government are providing.  The RGV Hispanic Chamber, Starr County Economic Development Foundation and the Rio Grande City Economic Development Corp. have scheduled a workshop on Friday, May 20th from 10am to 12 noon at in Rio Grande City to inform more of the business community of the services at the Starr County ED Foundation located at 615 E. Main St. in Rio Grande City.

The different organizations will help from the initial Business Plan to the funding of the loan.  Those that can’t get funded thru a bank can seek funding from a Micro Lender as LiftFund and PeopleFund.  The SBA will also guarantee those loans and the Governor’s office also provides assistance.
