MISSION, TEXAS – The growing Rio Grande Valley welcomed a new home builder this week, Winfield Communities, which broke ground Monday on its first property in Sharyland Plantation. Winfield Communities is the newest venture of Killam companies, a family-owned business with deep roots in South Texas that spans four generations and more than 100 years. The Winfield Communities team includes experienced architects, designers and project managers from the local community and is led by Division President Andy Konovodoff, who hails from Chicago where he served for nearly 20 years as president of a prominent national builder. 

Winfield Communities will begin work on a number of available lots in Sharyland Plantation, bringing the company’s innovative take on quality and design to this established community.

Winfield Communities is named for Killam Companies founder, Oliver Winfield Killam, who moved his family to South Texas and established his business in Laredo in the early 1920’s. Killam Companies has a long and successful history in the oil and gas industry, real estate development, ranching and investments across the region and has been working in the Rio Grande Valley area since 2013.
