Hailed as a “flawless and memorable” and “expressive, emotive, and deeply poetic” pianist, Anastasia Dedik will join the Valley Symphony Orchestra for a performance of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” on Friday, March 1 at 8:00 pm.

Dedik has performed on some of the most important stages in the world, including the Kennedy Center (Washington, DC), Carnegie Hall (New York City), The Great Philharmonic Hall in St. Petersburg, Russia and has appeared as a soloist with Fort Worth Symphony, Saint Petersburg Philharmonic, NYCA Symphony Orchestra, San Jose Symphony, and others. She has been featured on television on ABC as well as in an episode of NBC’s Law and Order SVU, performing Beethoven’s “Appassionata”. After graduating from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory in 2004, Anastasia continued her education at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and The Juilliard School.

She will join the VSO under the direction of Maestro Peter Dabrowski to perform “Rhapsody In Blue,” an energetic and grand composition by George Gershwin. First written and performed in 1924, “Rhapsody In Blue” was groundbreaking for its incorporation of jazz and popular sounds into an orchestral work. It is among the most well-known and loved modern orchestral compositions, having been featured in Disney’s Fantasia 2000 and several mainstream media campaigns.
