City, county, school district officials, and representatives along with local businessmen crowded into the Social Club in Edinburg on Thursday to lunch and learn about Light Emitting Diodes or L.E.D.s.  The event, sponsored by a new Rio Grande Valley company, Enviro-Lite Solutions LLC, was attended by those representing governmental entities from Brownsville to Mission.  Those attending were eager to learn how to lower lighting costs, protect the environment, lower the carbon footprint, and protect the health and safety through the use of LED lights.

The keynote speaker for the event was Yousheng Wang, President and founder of Tianjin Promlite Technology Co. LTD, who traveled to Edinburg from China for the special gathering.  Enviro-Lite Solutions has partnered and been appointed the exclusive representative of Promlite USA to offer the best quality LED lighting through a special proprietary program.

The program, which has an EMC option (Energy Management Contract), provides the governmental entities and institutions with a way to “update and upgrade lighting to the latest and most advanced illuminating technology without increasing indebtedness or their current budget according to John Phillips President of Enviro-Lite Solutions.  So far this year 2013, Promlite has closed $570,000,000 in EMC contracts.

Through his interpreter, Rain Wang, President and CEO of Promlite USA, told the crowd “working together we can provide a beautiful and energy efficient environment.”  Wang who founded the company in China in 2006, says the company has found a very effective way of combining technology and services.  He added that Promlite is way ahead in technological advances; they have surpassed other LED manufacturing companies.  The company holds the world record by producing the largest LED in the world an 800-Watt bulb.  Wang said, “Our Research and Development is university based, that is why we have chosen Edinburg as an area to expand.”

Promlite is currently building a manufacturing plant in Russia.  According to John Phillips, Enviro-Lite Solutions, Promlite, and the city of Edinburg have initiated talks regarding establishing an assembly plant and possibly a manufacturing plant for Edinburg, which could also be in the not too distant future.

Those attending the event were very enthusiastic about the reviews of the talk.  John Rodriguez, Assistant Director of Grant Management and Community Development of Brownsville commented, “We are working on energy saving projects, looking for ways to find energy efficiency”.  The director of his Brownsville organization Stephanie Reyes added, “I like what we learned here today.”

Marga Lopez, Donna Planning Director, was also very impressed with the presentation, vowing to take the information back to her hometown for review.  Edinburg City Commissioner Homer Jasso along with other Edinburg city and Economic Development officials all agreed it is something that they will take back to their respective communities for further evaluation.

Currently Enviro-Lite Solutions already is in the final stages of negotiations with several Rio Grande Valley communities and school districts to enter into ECMs.  These business agreements will see these entities enter into a new era of lowering costs, protecting the environment, and lowering the carbon footprint while brightening things up.
