Cameron County Public Works will begin sandbag distribution on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or until all available sandbags have been distributed. Sandbags will be available at all Cameron County Public Works facilities.

Residents may receive up to six (6) sandbags per household, while commercial property owners and businesses may receive up to eight (8) sandbags. Proof of residency will not be required, as sandbags will be available at all county precinct warehouse locations.

According to Cameron County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service, the county could experience significant rainfall beginning Monday evening, June 15, and continuing through Wednesday, June 17. Forecasts currently indicate the potential for at least 2 inches of rain, with heavier amounts possible in some areas. While rain is expected throughout the weekend, the most substantial rainfall is anticipated early next week.
