Fairgrounds Rd in RGC Closes Permanently at SL 195 Starting Sept 21

RIO GRANDE CITY – Through access of Fairgrounds Road in Rio Grande City will permanently close at the intersection of SL 195 starting at 7 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2026. 

The new SL 195 divided highway project will create T-intersections at both the northbound and southbound intersections of Fairgrounds Road and SL 195.

Northbound traffic on Fairgrounds Road will be directed to go left onto W. Eisenhower Road and follow the detour route. 

Southbound traffic on Fairgrounds Road will use south FM 3167 and follow the detour route.

Drivers are reminded that is illegal and unsafe to remove or tamper with construction barricades.
