McALLEN, Texas – The McAllen Police Department has arrested a 59-year-old resident following a weekend response to a disturbance that uncovered a large gathering involving underage drinking.
On the evening of Sunday, April 26, 2026, officers were dispatched to the 7300 block of North 8th Street after a neighbor reported hearing a young male screaming and sounds of a physical altercation. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered a “house party” with approximately 40 to 50 juveniles in attendance.
While on the scene, officers confirmed loud music emanating from the backyard and observed alcoholic beverages being consumed by the minors present. The homeowner, identified as Miguel Angel Herrera, initially denied officers entry into the residence.
Following an investigation into the incident, a magistrate in the McAllen Municipal Court determined there was sufficient probable cause to issue an arrest warrant for Herrera.
