Ready Tee, a golf club and tee accessory, invented by Silvestre Aguilar Trevino Jr., also known as Silver Trevino, is a very helpful artifact for people who enjoy golf.

“I’m the inventor of Ready Tee. It’s a golf tee carrying clip where you carry three tees at all times with you, you can clip it on your cap, you can clip it on your belt, or you can clip it on your trousers. You always have a tee with you,” said Trevino. “When you go play golf you have to be prepared, I see a lot of people running to their carts or borrowing a tee or looking around the green to find one around the box. So, I figured I could find a solution to it and this is why I created Ready Tee.”

Silver Trevino served as a Marine from 1971 to 1975, during the Vietnam War era, he also worked for the government for 35 and a half years and retired as an adjudication officer for Homeland Security.

“I was a Marine during the Vietnam War era. After that, I worked for the government for 35 and a half years. I worked as an immigration officer, an examiner, and an adjudication officer. I retired in 2006 under the Homeland Security has an adjudication officer, a high-ranking officer. And it’s a pleasure working for the government for over 35 years.” He said. “Now I get to do what I really like to do, play golf, play chess and of course invent something that will help people focus on the game of golf.”

His passion for golf helped him find a better way to solve this popular golfer’s issue. He invented Ready Tee, an item that allows golfers to carry three tees with them at all times. With help from the McAllen Chamber of business and support from his wife and daughter, Silver Trevino was able to launch his small business.

“I’d like to thank the McAllen Chamber of Commerce for giving us the opportunity to participate in the Inventors and Entrepreneurs program (I&E), and for conceding us a grant which helped at the beginning of the business. I invented this some time back, but it just went out for sale in June of 2017,” said Trevino. “I want to thank my wife, Chris Trevino, and my daughter, Krystal Trevino, for all the hours in the production itself that they’ve put in. And to Robert Mahadi, our marketing vice-president.”

Ready Tee is currently sold at Elliott’s Golf Customs store in Harlingen, and online through Facebook, e-bay and their website www.ready-tee.com.  Besides being a useful tool for golfers, it doubles as an advertising item.

“It doubles as an advertisement for businesses. They can put their logos on the front of Ready Tee. We have several businesses out of McAllen and out of the Valley that have ordered some, companies in the Valley have ordered some with their logos and they’re giving them away at tournaments,” said Trevino. “And it’s also good to give as birthday presents, Christmas, a Father’s Day present, you name it.”
