Valley International Airport Announces New Delta Air Lines Service Delta is now serving daily seasonal service as of Dec. 21 between Harlingen and Minneapolis-St. Paul

HARLINGEN, Texas – Delta Air Lines informed Valley International Airport (VIA) that began seasonal daily service between Harlingen and Minneapolis-St. Paul as of Dec. 21. The service will run through the end of April 2014. The flight will depart Harlingen daily at 3:30 p.m. CST and arrive in Minneapolis at 6:30 p.m. CST. The return flight departs Minneapolis at 11:30 a.m. and arrives in Harlingen at 2:45 p.m.

This is great news for Valley residents because the Delta service will offer more destination options with connections to Detroit, Winnipeg, Europe and Asia,” airport board Chairman Richard Franke said. “The flight times are especially convenient for the winter Texans as well as other connecting passengers.”

Delta will operate an Airbus A320 aircraft with 12 First-Class seats, 18 Economy Comfort seats (with up to 4 inches more legroom) and 120 Economy seats, as well as in-flight WiFi throughout the aircraft. Delta is one of the founding members of the SkyTeam Alliance – SkyTeam consists of 19 carriers on five continents, as well as SkyTeam Cargo with 10 carriers.

“With this new service, our customers in Harlingen will enjoy convenient one-stop access to more than 125 destinations worldwide via our hub in Minneapolis-St. Paul, including Amsterdam, Paris, London-Heathrow and Tokyo,” said Joe Esposito, Delta’s managing director – Domestic Network Planning. “We’re excited about adding Harlingen to our leading global network.”

“Harlingen is proud and excited to welcome Delta Air Lines’ new nonstop service to Minneapolis-St. Paul,” Harlingen Mayor Chris Boswell said. “Our catchment area will benefit greatly from all the additional connecting opportunities for our business and leisure traffic.”
