The Vaqueros trailed 24-10 early in the second quarter. That’s when the Vaqueros lit on fire, hitting 10 of their next 14 shots to go on a 24-5 run and take a 34-29 lead. Buerge scored 10 points during the run while Templeton added seven. Templeton gave the Vaqueros the lead twice during the run, first at 27-26 with a layup and then at 32-29 with a three.

Up 36-33 at the half, Tyler got the Vaqueros off to a good start in the third quarter with back-to-back layups to spark a 12-2 run that made the score 50-35.

The Dustdevils responded with a 12-5 run to pull within 55-47 at the start of the fourth, but a three by freshman Halie Jones and layups by senior Megan Johnson and Buerge allowed the Vaqueros to go on a 7-2 run to take a 62-49 lead and push the game out of reach.
