EDINBURG, Texas (Thurs., April 9, 2020) – The Rio Grande Valley FC will face Copa Tejas rival, San Antonio FC as they compete for the final group stage matchup in the USL eCup: Rocket League Edition tournament. The match is set for Friday, April 10 at 6 p.m. CT live on ESPN3.

The Toros kicked off the first matchup of group stage with a big win against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, only to fall to El Paso Locomotive FC in the second group stage game. RGV FC fell to third place and are looking to earn three points against SAFC in order to qualify for the knockout stage of the tournament.

Toros season ticket member, Christian Sais will lead RGV FC in the third match. The club has scored a total of 37 goals, while recording 43 shots and two saves. RGV FC stands at 5,994 total Rocket League points.

SAFC stands undefeated in the tournament, led by Josh Richards. Richards has led the squad to 49 total goals, most goals scored in the group. They sit at first with 7,333 Rocket League points.

Each team has been partnered with local charities of their choosing. The tournament will assist by helping to raise funds for the chosen community charities all across the nation.

With the current COVID-19 pandemic, RGV FC chose the RGV Food Bank in order to assist with local efforts being made. The Food Bank is constantly fighting local hunger and assist by feeding our community all throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Anyone can help fight for local hunger by making their contribution here.
