More than 1,500 students from 25 early college high schools (ECHS) across the Valley received a certificate or an associate degree on May 11, the largest number of ECHS students in STC’s history. STC conferred over 3,700 degrees in five ceremonies on May 11 and 12.

South Texas College, the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley, and the Consulate of Mexico in McAllen will formalize an official IME Becas amendment to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in December 2017. Left to right: STC President Dr. Shirley A. Reed; Mexican Consulate in McAllen Eduardo Bernal Martinez; and Rita Garza, director of operations at UTRGV, formalized an official IME Becas MOU last December to lay the foundation for a partnership seeking to increase the educational attainment of Mexicans or persons of Mexican origin living in the US.

South Texas College celebrates Family Day at Mid-Valley Campus

South Texas College’s Mid-Valley Campus celebrated the opening of new construction including a Health Professions and Sciences Building that spans over 77,000 square feet. The Mid-Valley Campus Library was also renovated and expanded. The Student Services Building was expanded to include a new enrollment center that will assist the more than 3,500 students that register for classes at the campus.
