EDINBURG, Texas – Border Patrol agents recently arrested two sex offenders in the Rio Grande Valley.
Early Thursday morning, Fort Brown agents arrested a Honduran national after he illegally entered the United States. During processing, record checks revealed an arrest in Maryland for rape second degree. The subject was subsequently convicted of a third-degree sex offense and sentenced to five years’ probation.
This morning, Weslaco agents working in Pharr, Texas, arrested a Mexican national whose record checks revealed a conviction in Hidalgo County, Texas. The man was charged with two counts of indecency with a child. The man received seven years of confinement for the crime.
Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
