McALLEN, Texas — RGV LEAD announces the departure of Mary Garcia, who will conclude her role as Project Coordinator with the organization, as she begins a new professional chapter with the Governor’s Economic Development and Tourism Office.

Since joining RGV LEAD, Mary has played an instrumental role in advancing the organization’s mission of supporting students, educators, and member districts across the Rio Grande Valley. Through her leadership, dedication, and commitment to service, she helped strengthen programming initiatives and contributed to a highly successful academic year for the organization.

“From the very beginning, Mary demonstrated a genuine willingness to learn, grow, and embrace every opportunity to make a difference through RGV LEAD,” said Eloy Garza, Board President of RGV LEAD. “Her passion for serving students, supporting our member districts, and strengthening workforce and educational initiatives allowed her to make a meaningful impact in a short amount of time. She approached every challenge with professionalism, determination, and heart. On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are grateful for her dedication and proud to see her continue her journey in public service with the Governor’s Economic Development and Tourism Office.”

During her tenure, Mary worked collaboratively with school districts, educational leaders, and community stakeholders to support initiatives focused on career and technical education, student engagement, and leadership development.
