Mission Police Department to host Crime Victims’ Vigil Moment of prayer to be held for DPS trooper

Mission, TX – The City of Mission Police Department will be holding a walk and vigil Thurs. April 11, 2019, in honor of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

Join Mission city leaders and first responders as they support victims and survivors of crime. The event will also shed light on the needs of crime victims within the community. A walk to honor victims will be held at 5 p.m., followed by a vigil at 5:30 p.m.

A moment of prayer will be held during the vigil to honor our local DPS trooper, shot in the line of duty. There will also be a dove release, and law enforcement officers will turn on their lights and sirens in remembrance of lives lost to criminal activity.

After the vigil, the department will host an open house with more than 30 community service agencies in attendance as well as free food, refreshments, and entertainment.
