MISSION, Texas – More than 2,000 Mission CISD students, parents, and community members gathered Monday evening at the Mission Event Center for the district’s annual Back-to-School Bash, a celebration designed to help families prepare for a successful 2026-2027 school year.
The free event connected families with essential back-to-school resources, including school supplies, student registration assistance, health information, immunizations, sports physicals, vision screenings, and campus and department representatives. Families also had the opportunity to visit with district staff, explore student programs, and learn about the many opportunities available to Mission CISD students throughout the year.
The event was made possible through the support of numerous community partners whose generosity helped ensure students begin the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
“Back-to-School Bash is one of the many ways we demonstrate our commitment to supporting the whole child and every family we serve,” said Mission CISD Superintendent Dr. Cris King. “When students walk into our classrooms with the tools, resources, and confidence they need to succeed, they are ready to reach new goals and make this their best school year yet. We are grateful to our staff, volunteers, and community partners for helping make that possible.”
Mission CISD extends its sincere appreciation to Driscoll Health Plan, the Education Foundation of Mission CISD, and all of the community organizations, volunteers, district departments, and campus teams who dedicated their time and resources to make the event a success.
School begins Tuesday, Aug. 11, and Mission CISD looks forward to welcoming students back for another year of academic excellence, innovation, and student success.
