It is not news that one way to help the local economy grow is by supporting local businesses. There are several ways to do this, for example by buying groceries from the farmers market, supporting local businesses before supporting large chain brands and preferring home-made products from local vendors.
Buying office products and school supplies can be hard to do when having a local-buying mindset, but here in the Rio Grande Valley we can find our office and school products in a local business called Cielo Office Products.
“We are a local company, we have been here in the Valley for 17 years,” Mina Thornton, a Cielo Office Products sales representative, said. “And we have everything that pertains to office products.”

“Usually the school districts will give us an item list, that the teachers, offices, and departments are requesting such as paper, pens, everything that pertains the supplies,” said Thornton. “We do our best to give them our best pricing.”
“We sell nationwide; our products are shipped out of San Antonio. We have next day delivery” said Thornton. “Also on our furniture that we have, we have free assembly of any piece of furniture. We do have a lot of ongoing business.”
Despite being a local company, Cielo Office Products is available for delivery nationwide. Their products come from San Antonio, and they can be delivered anywhere in the nation. With their furniture, they have free assembly for their clients.
“We are part of the small businesses in the area since we are local, we want to encourage the local market to buy from us,” she said. “We do cater mostly to schools, but now we are trying to go out there and offer our services to business and encourage them to buy local.”
