A McAllen delegation recently traveled to El Salvador, attending an invitation by Ambassador of El Salvador to the U.S. Milena Mayorga to commercial mission from Texas to El Salvador to promote collaboration and investment between San Salvador and McAllen.

The McAllen delegation was headed by McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos and integrated by Elizabeth Suarez, Director for the McAllen International Airport, Ralph Garcia, Vice President for McAllen Economic Development Corporation, Mark Garcia, Vice President for the McAllen Foreign Trade Zone and Luis Eduardo Cantu, Vice President for the McAllen Chamber of Commerce.

“We are very honored to have been part of this commercial mission to El Salvador, that allowed us to see that country with a very different perspective,” said Luis Eduardo Cantu, “through the multiple meetings and conversations with people from El Salvador, from Government to business, we see a country that wants to move forward and rise to new levels. That was something great to see and we are looking forward to establishing a work plan to connect our communities and formalize a sister city agreement with San Salvador, the countries capital, in the near future.” Cantu concluded.

The McAllen Delegation also had the opportunity to visit AEROMAN, a highly developed and extensive maintenance and repair facility for Airlines jetliners fleet from the U.S., Central and South America.  The facility has 40 lines of production in 6 state of the art hangars. The visit was hosted by Aeroman CEO Alejandro Echeverria and is without a doubt one of El Salvador’s success stories.
