LA JOYA, Texas – The excitement of a new school year filled the air as La Joya ISD welcomed students and families for its 2026 Back to School Bash – an annual district celebration that reflects the collective effort behind every La Joya ISD student. On Friday, August 7, families gathered alongside district leaders, campus staff, and community partners for an event designed to help students return to the classroom feeling supported, prepared, and excited about what lies ahead.
Beyond free school supplies, the Bash gave families an opportunity to connect directly with La Joya ISD departments and learn more about the programs, resources, and services available to support students throughout the school year.

“Our Back to School Bash is really about reminding our families that they are not preparing for this school year alone,” said Annette Lozano, Executive Director of Student, Family, & Community Engagement. “When our schools, families, community partners, and district come together around our students, we create a support system that extends far beyond the classroom.”
Community partnerships also played an important role in the celebration. Their participation underscored a shared understanding that student success is not the responsibility of schools alone – it is a community effort. That spirit of partnership is especially significant as La Joya ISD begins another year focused on strengthening relationships with the families and communities it serves.
“When our community comes together for our students, it sends a powerful message that their success matters to all of us,” Lozano added. “We are incredibly grateful for the partners who continue to invest their time, resources, and support in our families. Those relationships strengthen our schools, strengthen our community, and ultimately create more opportunities for every student to thrive.”
