LAREDO, Texas – Killam Development recently sponsored the State of Transportation & Infrastructure event during the 2023 Economic Development Week in Laredo. The event was held on Tuesday, May 9th, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Falcon Executive Conference Room at the Harold R. Yeary Library at Laredo College.

The State of Transportation & Infrastructure event recognized important initiatives and trends in economic development that generate excitement and improve the economic well-being of the community. Humberto “Tito” Gonzalez, Jr, P.E., TxDOT Director of Transportation, Planning, and Programming, delivered the keynote speech.

During the event, Rolando Ortiz, Chief Operating Officer at Killam Development, delivered a few words on behalf of the company. Killam Development is committed to supporting initiatives that promote economic growth and development in Laredo and the surrounding region.

The 2023 Economic Development Week in Laredo is part of a national celebration that recognizes the contributions made by professional economic developers to create more economically vibrant and livable communities. The Laredo Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) hosted a variety of events, including a Proclamation Day, an Annual Entrepreneur and Small Business Development Forum and Award Ceremony, a Membership Spring Mixer, and a Shop Local Initiative.

“We are proud to have sponsored the State of Transportation & Infrastructure event during Economic Development Week in Laredo in partnership with the Laredo Economic Development Corporation and Laredo College,” said Rolando Ortiz, Chief Operating Officer at Killam Development. “Laredo, Texas is the number one inland port with more than 15,000 trucks crossing our border daily. This event shines light on how important Laredo is to the world. As a city, we are positioned for enormous growth in industrial development, transportation, and infrastructure; and Killam Development continues to be steadfast in economic development and in the prosperity of our community.”
