Rio Grande Valley, TX – IDEA Palmview College Preparatory’s Founding Principal, Deirdre Medina, has been awarded the Outstanding School Administrator Award from the Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas (ATAT).

This award is given state-wide for each region of Texas. Medina supervises the school academic programs, with a focus on AP for all, IDEA’s first CTE-Agriculture program. IDEA Palmview College Prep is one of the very few middle schools in the state to offer agriculture education starting in 6th grade level. All students at IDEA Palmview are heavily involved, including students in special programs such as RISE and SPED.

“I feel honored to have received this award, and I’m extremely proud of my IDEA Palmview team and family,” says Medina. “IDEA Palmview is one of the few campuses in Texas to offer an advanced agriculture program and our staff takes immense pride in teaching this. This award proves that our hardworking students and dedicated staff deserve to be recognized as one of the best in Texas.”
