BROWNSVILLE, Texas — The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley invites the community to turn up the heat at the 5th Anniversary Empty Bowls Lower Valley: Noche Caliente, presented by H-E-B Hunger Relief, on Thursday, June 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Brownsville Events Center.
The event will be held at the Brownsville Events Center, located at 1 Event Center Blvd. in Brownsville.
This milestone event will bring together local restaurants, community members, and supporters for an evening filled with food, music, and purpose. Guests will enjoy tastings from a variety of local restaurants and vendors, a raffle, silent auction, and a salsa contest featuring select participating restaurants, with guests voting for their favorite salsa of the evening. Funds raised will help support the community and provide meals for neighbors in need across the Rio Grande Valley.
With admission, guests will also receive a hand-painted ceramic bowl to take home as a keepsake. The bowl serves as a meaningful reminder that many neighbors face empty bowls every day, and that together, the community can help fill those bowls with food, hope, and support.
Participating restaurants and vendors include H-E-B, Brownsville Coffee Shop #2, Vermillion, Jolie Petite, Gourmet Central, Suspiro Cakes, Vera’s Backyard Bar-B-Que, Rudy’s, Texican BBQ, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Parry’s Pizza, SpaceFish Mariscos, Chirina’s Fish Tacos, Mariscos El Pilón, Bubba’s, Chick-fil-A, Breadsmith, Tacos El Compadre, Golden Corral, Starbucks, Aguas Frescas Victoria, and Dino.
