Edinburg, Texas– The Edinburg City Council named Juan Guerra as City Manager at a special city council meeting Friday afternoon.

Guerra comes to Edinburg with 18 years of experience in city government including three years as city manager for the City of Pharr since 2015.

He was born and raised in Chicago but has called the Rio Grande Valley home for 26 years.

Guerra graduated from Nikki Rowe High School in McAllen and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Campbell University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas Pan-American. Guerra also served in the United States Marine Corps from 1996 to 2000.
