Andrea Rodriguez Returns as Event Chair for IDEA

IDEA Public Schools officially announced that Andrea Rodriguez will return as event chair for IDEA Public Schools Annual Dinner and Auction Scholarship Gala. 

Rodriguez has served on the committee for the past five years and this is her second year serving as event chair. She has also served on IDEA Public Schools Rio Grande Valley Regional Board for the past three years. She has shown great leadership to help make the galas a great success throughout the years.

“I am so excited to be serving as event chair for the second year,” says Andrea Rodriquez, Event Chair for IDEA Public Schools Dinner and Auction Gala.  “It gives me so much joy to be a part of a committee that is helping children in the Rio Grande Valley make it to and through college.”

Andrea is the Director of Sales & Marketing for the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton McAllen with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She moved to Texas in 1993 and attended the University of Texas Pan American.  Andrea has made certain to give back and share her knowledge and leadership in the community and has held a number of lead committee and board positions including City of McAllen Convention/Civic Center, McAllen Hospitality Forum for the McAllen Convention & Visitors’ Bureau, McAllen Hotels and McAllen Chamber of Commerce, Food Bank RGV, and Executive Board for Organization of  Women Executives.

This year, IDEA Public Schools is celebrating 20 years of years of impact for students, families, staff and communities. During the last two decades, IDEA Public Schools has grown from a small school with 150 students to the fastest-growing network of tuition-free, Pre-K-12 public charter schools in the United States. Currently, the network serves nearly 53,000 college-bound students in 96 schools across Texas and Louisiana. 

This year’s Dinner and Auction Gala will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2020 from 6:30 – 10 p.m. at the Mission Event Center. Click here for information or to purchase tickets for this year’s event.
