Edinburg, Texas (September 29, 2016) – Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV Vice President of Operations, Adriana Rendon was chosen as the 2016 Professional of the Year for the Southwest Region by Boys & Girls Clubs National Professional Association.

“I really do love what I do! I was caught off guard and completely surprised but honored to have received an award for doing a job I love and enjoy,” Rendon said.

The Professional of the Year award recognizes a Boys and Girls Club professional who holds the title, duties and responsibilities of an Assistant Executive Director, Director of Operations, Unit Director, Development, or any Programmatic related full time staff member within their organization and who has made a significant contributions to the work of the Boys & Girls Club profession while in their current position.

In the years that Adriana has worked in the Boys & Girls Clubs, she has made a tremendous impact on the programs, the staff, and the youth we serve.   She is dedicated to the mission and philosophies of the national charter and as such, provides the training and resources necessary to ensure that every child who walks through our doors has a well-rounded experience and has many opportunities to feel accepted, competent and a part of something that matters.

“Adriana has had a vast impact on the youth, staff and overall program at our organization.  She is deeply invested in our community youth and works tirelessly in putting the kids first.  We are truly blessed to have her as a part of our leadership team,’ said Sabrina Walker Hernandez, Chief Executive Officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV.

The Club offers programs that emphasize character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sport, fitness and recreation.  TBB
