Valley Symphony Appoints New Officers and Directors

The Valley Symphony Orchestra announces that new officers and directors have begun terms with their board of directors effective June 1, 2020. 

“These individuals bring a wealth of experience and skills to their positions and we are pleased to have them fulfill these roles with the VSO,” said Philip K. Brown, who will serve his third year as president in 2020-21. “They will be tremendous assets to the board and be key to delivering on our mission.”

The 2020-21 VSO Board officers are:

President: Philip K. Brown, Immediate Past Airport Director
Vice President: Harry Urey, Jr., Pointer Realty
Secretary: Michelle Crane, Pfizer
Treasurer: Dr. Nina Torkelson, Valley Baptist Medical Center

The Symphony also welcomed four new directors on June 1. 

These directors can serve 3 2-year terms for the organization:

Suzanne McDonald, community leader
Sony Rego, Restaurant Proprietor, Santa Fe Steakhouse and more
Timothy A. Sers, Rio Bank
Karen Valdez, Texas Regional Bank 

“Our board of directors provides vision and oversight that leads to growth and increased impact,” said Katy Coy, executive director of the VSO. “We are grateful for their service and look forward to evolving under their leadership.” 

The Valley Symphony’s 69th season will begin in late fall. Dates and events will be announced as soon as possible and have been delayed by circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 public health crisis. For more information, visit www.valleyorchestra.org.
