UTRGV Volleyball Signs Perris Key For 2021

RIO GRANE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Volleyball Head Coach Todd Lowery announced on Wednesday the addition of 5-8 freshman outside hitter Perris Key for the 2021 season.

Key comes to UTRGV from Katy High School. As a senior, the Brookshire-native averaged 3.99 kills on .291 hitting and 2.61 digs while serving up 180 aces in 76 sets en route to All-District First Team honors.

In three seasons at the varsity level, Key averaged 2.31 kills on .257 hitting, 1.29 digs and 0.89 aces in 238 sets.

“Perris is an incredible athlete she is going to be really fun to watch,” Lowery said. “She really took on a leadership role on a Katy High School team that made a great run in the playoffs. We have watched her grow so much over the last 15 month and we are really excited for her to join us in the gym.”

Key joins 5-7 freshman libero Luanna Emiliano and 6-0 freshman outside hitter Ingridy Foltran as part of the 2021 recruiting class.
